Three new non-executive directors have been appointed to Western Power’s board, with an additional member being re-appointed for a further three-year term.

Appointed by the Western Australian Government, the new non-executive directors will help guide the business as the state transitions to a clean energy future.

The new appointees are Mr Wayne Manners, Ms Andrea Hall, and Mr Rob Grant as well as the re-appointment of Mr Monish Paul.

Western Power Board Chair, Denise Goldsworthy AO, said the new board members bring with them a wealth of knowledge in large industry, natural resources, and climate change.

“Western Power plays a critical role in enabling the industry and the community to reach their decarbonisation goals while continuing to ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and affordable power to the community in the face of climate change impacts.”

“I would like to congratulate Wayne, Andrea and Rob on their appointments to the Western Power Board and look forward to working with them as Western Power supports Western Australia’s transition to a decarbonised future.”

“The Western Power Board maintains a diverse range of skills and extensive knowledge and experience ensuring they continue to make best practice and informed decisions for the West Australian community,” Ms Goldsworthy said.

“I would also like to congratulate Mr Monish Paul on his reappointment and thank retiring non-executive board member Elisa Fear. Elisa’s extensive financial executive experience together with her commercial knowledge has been invaluable to the Board and the business.”

Mr Manners’ previous experience includes being the former President and CEO of Boral Australia and has led the delivery of significant organisational change and improvement.

Mr Manners is currently an Advisory Board Member of IQRenew and previously a Board Member of Green Building Council of Australia. Mr Manners will commence as a director on 1 November 2023.

Ms Hall is a highly experienced non-executive director and is the current Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for Perenti Limited, the Risk and Sustainability Committee for Core Lithium Ltd and the Audit Committee for Evolution Mining and Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation.

Ms Hall’s past experience includes being a former KPMG Risk Consulting Partner and has a deep understanding of natural resources, financial services, transport, infrastructure, education, and research sectors, and will commence in her new position as a director on 1 November 2023.

With more than 25 years’ experience in the international energy and infrastructure industry, Mr Grant is currently the Managing Director and Global Head of Projects for Pollination, a specialist climate change investment and advisory firm.

Mr Grant has extensive knowledge in renewable energy and infrastructure development and was previously Director Energy at Fortescue Metals Group and Chair of the Clean Energy Investor Group, and will commence as a director on 1 February 2024.
