All Western Australian households are set to receive a $350 credit on their next power bill as the State Government delivers the second instalment of the $700 Household Electricity Credit.
The Federal and Western Australian Governments joined forces to deliver the credit, with the $350 instalment to be applied on Synergy and Horizon Power bills from 7 December 2024.
Households with a direct billing account with Synergy or Horizon Power will automatically have the credit applied to their next bill.
For households that do not have an account with Synergy or Horizon Power, applications for assistance are open through RevenueWA, closing on 31 January 2025.
Households requiring additional support can access additional power bill relief through the Energy Assistance Payment and the Dependent Child Rebate.
The Western Australian Government said the 2024 $700 Household Electricity Credit takes total power bill relief it has delivered to at least $2100 for every household over the past four years.
Western Australian Premier, Roger Cook, said delivering cost-of-living relief to Western Australian families is the State Government’s top priority.
“In partnership with the Federal Government, we’re making sure every Western Australian household receives another $350 off their power bill this Christmas.
Western Australian Treasurer, Rita Saffioti, said, “This is real support that makes a difference to Western Australian households juggling cost-of-living pressures.
“The State Government has made clear we will continue to support Western Australian households and businesses through these cost-of-living pressures.”
Western Australian Minister for Energy, Reece Whitby, said the State Government is tackling cost-of-living pressures for households throughout Western Australia by investing in clean, affordable, and reliable energy.
“This electricity credit will further support our efforts and provide much-needed relief for families this Christmas.”
