Victorian Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) Secretary, John Bradley, has announced his resignation, after almost eight years in the role.
Victorian Minister for Energy and Resources, Climate Action and the State Electricity Commission, Lily D’Ambrosio, thanked Bradley for his outstanding service.
“Mr Bradley served as Department Secretary for eight years – his dedication and expertise has helped to shape Victoria,” she said.
“Mr Bradley’s hard work has helped better the lives of Victorian people and he has fostered an inclusive and diverse workplace in which his staff could thrive.”
D’Ambrosio said that Bradley has been integral to delivering significant policy outcomes for the Victorian Government, including overseeing the transition of Victoria’s energy sector and taking nation-leading climate action.
“His leadership has helped transform the state, from recycling to water management and supporting self-determination for First Peoples,” she said.
“He has worked tirelessly to lead his team through some of the most devastating natural disasters in the state’s history, as well as supporting Victorian farmers with recent biosecurity challenges and through the current drought conditions.
“Mr Bradley has offered to remain in the role until the end of September, and will work with the Secretary of Department of Premier and Cabinet to ensure a smooth transition.”
