TransGrid has appointed a new Executive Manager of Strategy, Innovation and Technology to its Executive team.

Eva Hanly joins TransGrid from Transurban Group, where she was General Manager, NSW and General Manager, Development. Ms Hanly was also previously General Manager, Commercial at Origin Energy.

TransGrid CEO, Paul Italiano, said Ms Hanly would play a critical role in driving future-focused thinking as the pace of change in the energy sector intensifies.

“Eva’s blend of engineering and commercial experience is an ideal fit for TransGrid as the entire energy industry continues to respond to technological change and consumer behaviours which are revolutionising the way we generate, transport and use electricity,” said Mr Italiano.

“TransGrid is committed to developing new services to help deliver safe, reliable electricity to consumers while also delivering savings in everyday energy bills. I am delighted to welcome Eva to the TransGrid team and look forward to working with her.”

Ms Hanly said, “Joining TransGrid is a great opportunity to contribute in an industry that touches the life of every Australian household and business, and I’m excited to continue my career in the energy industry at such a pivotal time.”

Aside from roles at Transurban and Origin, Ms Hanly has held leadership positions at some of Australia’s leading construction and infrastructure companies including Thiess, Brookfield Multiplex, Bilfinger Berger Services (now Lend Lease) and Worley Parsons.

She holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Engineering and BA (International Relations/Public Policy) from the University of New South Wales.
