Synergy Acting CEO, Kurt Baker, has officially been appointed CEO, following David Fyfe’s resignation in April 2025.

Mr Baker brings more than three decades of experience in the energy sector and has led Synergy through a period of significant transformation and delivery. The utility said his appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in his leadership and the strategic direction already in motion.

Synergy Board Chair, Michelle Shepherd, said, “Kurt has demonstrated exceptional leadership, deep industry knowledge, and a strong commitment to our customers and community.

“We are confident he will continue to lead Synergy with purpose and integrity.”

Mr Baker said, “I’m honoured to lead Synergy at such a pivotal time in our energy transition.

“I look forward to continuing our work to deliver reliable, accessible and sustainable energy for Western Australians.”
