Shell Energy Australia has appointed a new member to its executive team to lead the company’s digital transformation.

Steve Nichols will step into the role of Chief Information Officer, where he will guide the team in creating innovative solutions for customers navigating a rapidly decarbonising and digitising energy system.

He will also be responsible for Shell Energy’s technology group, which includes software developers, engineers, Agile and cybersecurity experts.

Mr Nichols brings 20 years of experience to the new role, with expertise in digital, marketing, strategy, data, analytics and business operations.

His previous role was as Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Shell Energy, which he began in 2017.
