A new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has been appointed at Shell Energy Australia, replacing outgoing CEO, Greg Joiner.
Tony Keeling has been appointed as Shell Energy Australia’s new CEO, following Mr Joiner’s appointment as CEO of Shell Energy Europe.
Shell Energy Australia said that over the past 20 years, Mr Keeling has built and led large customer-focused businesses, leading teams to navigate and deliver in complex and regulated markets.
The company said Mr Keeling brings a deep understanding of the energy industry having spent the majority of his career in the sector, most recently as CEO, Shell Energy Retail Europe.
Prior to joining Shell, Mr Keeling served for ten years on the management board of SSE plc, a FTSE 30 vertically integrated energy business in the UK, focused on building and operating renewable generation, transmission and distribution networks, trading, energy solutions and retail.
Mr Keeling has also been managing director of multiple retail and energy solutions businesses, including several within the OVO Energy Group. Mr Keeling has also worked for the UK’s Health Security Agency Government on the response to COVID-19, been a non-executive director on boards of several companies in the clean tech and energy space, and a management consultant at PwC.
Shell Energy Australia said Mr Keeling has a strong understanding of both residential and B2B energy markets, and throughout his career has been committed to helping customers access the best energy solutions for their needs today while encouraging innovation and supporting them to navigate the energy transition.
Mr Keeling commenced his role with Shell Energy Australia in January 2024.
