CivEng Consulting has carved out a reputation for delivering high-quality, practical solutions in the power and renewable energy sector, leveraging the company’s expertise in high-voltage substations, BESS (battery energy storage systems), and solar farms.

With over 80 years of combined industry experience, CivEng partners with electrical consultants, EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contractors, and asset owners to provide reliable, cost-effective engineering outcomes that meet project specifications and deadlines.

“We are deeply passionate about engineering and the power, energy, and renewables sectors, applying our technical expertise to support innovation, sustainability, and long-term asset performance,” CivEng Consulting director Dave Jones said.

“Our proven track record spans complex projects across the power and water sectors, where we are trusted to solve problems and deliver results.”

Collaborative and client‑focused

Clear communication, fast response, and cost-effective design are central to how CivEng works, with flexibility and collaboration embedded into all that the Sunshine Coast-based design firm does. This enables CivEng to adapt quickly to changing project requirements and tight timelines, without compromising quality.

“Clients return to us because we consistently deliver designs that are coordinated, efficient, and ready for construction,” Jones said.

Endorsements for CivEng’s capabilities are coming in from across the power and renewable energy sector, including from TasNetworks, which worked with CivEng – through Megavar – on the St Marys transformer replacement.

Here, 10MVA transformers first commissioned in 1966 required much-needed replacement, with CivEng stepping up to complete 3D earthworks modelling, transformer bund structural design and oil containment design.

“CivEng has a long association with TasNetworks projects and has established a familiarity with its sites, technical standards, and staff over time,” TasNetworks project manager Leigh Henderson said. “This has resulted in a sense of confidence and comfort that the end product will be fit for purpose.”
