Latrobe Council has approved the Wesley Vale Solar Farm, near Devonport, that will supply 12.5MW of renewable energy to the grid and become Tasmania’s largest solar farm.
The project will generate enough power to supply 2,900 homes and will strengthen and diversify Tasmania’s energy mix, as a complement to the hydro-electric backbone.
The project’s developer, Epuron, said it is very excited to see the project enter the next phase of development. Epuron is now finalising the grid connection arrangements for this project and preparing for construction to commence in 2019.
