Genus is making moves in its evolution into a national Tier 1 player, appointing former Synergy CEO, David Fyfe, as Chief Operating Officer.

Mr Fyfe brings more than 20 years’ experience in energy and infrastructure, most recently leading Synergy’s transition to a sustainable future with a strong pipeline of green energy projects. The move reflects Genus’ momentum as it scales delivery across transmission, BESS, renewables, communications, and large-scale infrastructure nationally.

The announcement follows another recent Milestone for Genus, with the company securing a three-year Construction Services Panel Agreement (CSPA) with Transgrid earlier in May 2025.

Mr Fyfe said, “I wanted to return to the private sector and be part of something dynamic and fast-growing.

“As a former client, I experienced Genus’ integrity, collaboration and reliability first-hand, which speaks volumes about the culture. The chance to help grow this business was too good to pass up.”

Genus Managing Director, David Riches, said Mr Fyfe joining the team is a landmark moment.

“We’ve grown into a national Tier 1 operator delivering critical infrastructure right across the country. David’s insight will help us scale faster, diversify further, and strengthen our position as contractor of choice.”
