The general arrangement drawings for Australian switchgear engineering firm NOJA Power’s VISI-SWITCH’s mid pole actuator design have been updated.

The design allows users to operate the VISI-SWITCH without needing to reach a hook stick between the overhead lines.

NOJA Power said that by bringing the actuation point down to the middle of the pole, engineers meet a balance between two key factors – operational safety for users and maintaining a degree of separation between switchgear and the public.

NOJA Power Group Managing Director, Neil O’Sullivan, said, “The NOJA Power VISI-SWITCH is the perfect alternative to SF6 gas switches and helps our customers meet their mandate and improve their environmental footprint.”

The mid pole accessory system can be cut to size on site. This allows utilities to stock a single mid pole actuator type across their network, irrespective of design variation in power pole dimensions.
