NHP has entered an exclusive distribution partnership with a global electrical equipment manufacturer to boost connectivity and sustainability for its customers.
After 20 years as the local distributor for Socomec’s power control and safety range, NHP has expanded this longstanding relationship. The partnership applies to the distribution of Socomec’s energy management portfolio in Australia and New Zealand.
NHP’s Marketing Manager – Customer and Channels, Daniel Hillhouse, said that Socomec’s energy management line is a natural fit which enhances NHP’s existing power distribution portfolio.
“By expanding our partnership with Socomec, we can provide enhanced connectivity utilising the latest technology tailored for the local Australian and New Zealand markets.
“This expanded partnership will bring additional growth opportunities for both organisations as we move towards a more energy efficient and sustainable future,” Mr Hillhouse said.
The expanded distribution partnership will become effective from 1 January 2025.
Socomec’s Managing Director – ANZ, James Fraser, said, “We believe NHP is an ideal fit for our energy management portfolio, and by consolidating both business lines into one cohesive channel, we can further enhance the experience for customers across Australia and New Zealand.
“NHP has outstanding technical competencies, a strong local stocking capacity, extensive local project references, and a history of quality product management.”
Increasing demand for energy management solutions
Mr Fraser said that with both Australia and New Zealand focusing on building sustainability, energy management solutions are becoming increasingly sought after by companies looking to meet ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) targets and other regulations.
“You have Green Star building ratings, NABERS (National Australian Built Environment Rating System), NCC (National Construction Code) requirements and different government regulations, all demanding more sustainable building usage,” Mr Fraser said.
Mr Hillhouse said that adherence to NCC energy monitoring requirements made the extension of the partnership particularly appealing.
“NHP is already at the forefront with technologies to automate production and control power and now with the expanded offering from Socomec surrounding energy monitoring solutions, NHP is now well placed to provide our customers with end-to-end solutions which meet their needs now and into the future.”
Key partnership benefits
The partnership between NHP and Socomec builds on a strong foundation, merging NHP’s proficiency in power distribution, motor control and automation with Socomec’s market leading energy monitoring solutions. The new collaboration brings significant benefits to customers, such as:
- Enhanced end-to-end energy monitoring solutions, allowing for seamless NCC compliance and more, such as NABERS and Green Star
- Continuous support, including field service support and training

NHP CEO, Stephen Coop, said, “One of the things that sets NHP apart is that we have the largest in-country technical support and services team, which can deliver comprehensive field services to support organisations looking to upgrade their energy management systems.
“We work closely with our robust network of industry partners who install new systems in buildings or industrial applications, with strategically placed technicians located throughout the length and breadth of Australia and New Zealand.
“We look forward to this new chapter in our long and successful partnership with Socomec.”
