In the intricate world of manufacturing, control cabinets play a pivotal role in protecting automation components, power distribution systems and electrical components from the negative effects of external influences such as dust, humidity or extreme temperatures.

Control cabinets are typically vertical, steel enclosures with servo drives and other electromechanical components that control or monitor machinery and factory systems associated with it.

When building a control cabinet, there are five function areas to be mindful of in order to create a robust system. These areas are:

Power Reliability: Reliable control systems rely on proper power supply and protection. The foundation for these systems includes surge and circuit protection, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) backup, and redundant power solutions.

Connectivity, Switching and Conversion: Never take a good connection for granted, the connection of those wires, the switching and/or isolation of the signals are only as reliable as the quality of the terminations and electronics.

Automation, Networks and Safety: From single components to complete integrated systems, it is vital to employ cost-effective, reliable solutions for industrial networking, automation and safety.

Shopfloor Productivity: Efficiently building a quality control cabinet starts with what you use to build it. A thoughtful selection of products to reduce costs and save time translates directly to the bottom-line profitability of any shop floor.

Device Connectors: There are a wide range of products for the transmission of signals, data, and power. Reliable and cost-effective solutions like circular connectors, data ports, and connectors for energy storage are vital for a quality control system.

Phoenix Contact’s ‘Complete Cabinet Confidence’ program is the preeminent program to build cabinet solutions for electrification, networking, and automation. It includes:

Lifetime Warranty: A lifetime warranty program guarantees that products will perform reliably and provide certainty for any application.

Availability Guarantee: Complete Cabinet Confidence offers a range of products to meet project needs, all ready for dispatch at a moment’s notice. Even the most in-demand products are guaranteed to be always in stock and ready for delivery.

Price Guarantee: The program provides peace of mind with price stability, ensuring budgets always stay on track – with no surprises.

E-Platform: Phoenix E-platform offers transparent ways to conveniently access product documentation, product selection, product configuration along with pricing and delivery information 24/7, it provides efficient ways to purchase and track orders online, helping save time.

The Complete Cabinet Confidence program delivers a range of benefits to the market, including quality warranties, commitments on pricing, product availability assurances, highly efficient digital and ecommerce platforms, and IoT readiness.
