Zenith Energy has been recognised on an international stage, winning the Reuters 2025 Global Energy Transition Project of Impact for Decarbonisation Award.
The progressive Independent Power Producer (IPP) was honoured for its Kathleen Valley high renewable energy fraction power system for Liontown Resources’ Lithium Operation.

Presented at the Reuters Global Energy Transition Awards in New York, the prestigious award recognises organisations driving meaningful progress toward a low-carbon future.
Reuters said Zenith is setting a new standard for decarbonisation and a just energy transition in the mining sector, proving that clean, resilient, inclusive and commercially viable power is possible even in the most remote locations.
The pioneering hybrid microgrid at Kathleen Valley regularly delivers 100 per cent renewable energy to power the site and an 80 per cent renewable energy fraction by incorporating large-scale solar, wind and battery storage alongside high-efficiency thermal generation.
The project has demonstrated verified engine-off performance at scale and substantial greenhouse gas reductions.
Zenith Managing Director and CEO, Hamish Moffat, said the award highlights the strength of the IPP’s strategy and technology integration capability – a success formula underpinned by a vertically integrated business model and strong partnerships.
“This worldwide recognition by Reuters reflects that we are actually delivering real decarbonisation solutions and providing real economic value in the marketplace,” he said.
“It is a testament to the capability of our people and the collaborative approach we take with our clients and First Nations partners to progress the energy transition.”
Receiving the award on behalf of the company, Zenith Energy Executive ESG and Stakeholder Engagement, Dominic Da Cruz, said, “All of us at Zenith are proud that our industry-leading high renewable fraction off-grid power systems are not only the most cost-effective, reliable and sustainable in Australia, but are now also recognised on the global stage.
“We look forward to continuing to lead the way in integrating renewables for our clients, delivering projects that support Australia’s achievement of net zero while ensuring energy security, reliability and cost effectiveness,” Mr Moffat said.
