AusNet Services has renamed their commercial energy businesses Mondo, which aims to provide a comprehensive range of services and technology for essential infrastructure across the energy, water and transport sectors.

Nino Ficca, Managing Director of AusNet Services said, “People, communities and businesses are demanding more affordability, flexibility, reliability and sustainability right across the board.

“This includes the way they use, capture and store electricity, gas and water. Mondo brings together the personnel, experience and industry knowledge to best cater to this challenging changing landscape.”

Select Solutions and Geomatic Technologies have for years been the leaders in metering, mobile and spatial technology solutions for the utility and transport industries. Mondo began in 2017, focusing on distributed energy offerings such as mini-grids, virtual power plants and energy management for commercial and community partners.

Together as Mondo, the organisation will build on an already impressive portfolio of projects, valued at almost $1 billion dollars. These projects, including large capacity batteries and Australia’s first commercial mini-grid in Yackandandah, demonstrate Mondo’s expertise delivering value for large-scale infrastructure projects and grass-roots community groups.

Mondo will continue developing regional energy hubs, initially for Hume and Barwon in Victoria. A key pillar in Barwon is a partnership with Deakin University to work on a $30 million dollar project at their Waurn Ponds campus, incorporating large scale solar and battery storage.

”Mondo is now Australia’s leading provider of services for the rapidly changing industries of electricity, gas, transport and critical infrastructure,” said Chad Hymas, Executive General Manager of Mondo.

As the energy, water and transport infrastructure sectors evolve, the services offered by Geomatic Technologies and Select Solutions have become increasingly integrated. Now the businesses come together to operate as Mondo.
