APPEA has formally accepted the resignation of its Chief Executive Dr Malcolm Roberts.
“After more than three years leading APPEA, it is time for a fresh challenge,” Dr Roberts said.
“It has been a privilege to work with so many outstanding people from the industry and to lead the small, talented team in the secretariat.
“My time with APPEA coincided with an extremely challenging period for the industry.
“The industry – and APPEA – are now both leaner and more capable with very positive prospects heading into the future.
“This year, APPEA has committed to an unprecedented effort to engage more directly with the community. I look forward to seeing the progress of this great initiative.”
His successor, who was recruited to the role after an extensive search, will be named in the New Year and commence soon after, ensuring a smooth transition with Dr Roberts.
The re-elected APPEA Board Chairman, Zoe Yujnovich, thanked Dr Roberts for his service, on behalf of members and staff.
“We are grateful for the leadership Dr Roberts has shown during his time at APPEA, especially during what has been a challenging time for the entire energy sector,” Ms Yujnovich said.
“His strong advocacy will continue to ensure our industry can play its role in providing energy to Australian and export customers for decades to come.”
